Dr. Khaira was born in India and spent his childhood growing up in California's central valley. After completing his Bachelors of Science at UC Davis, he attended Ross University Medical School in Dominica, and completed his internship year of residency at Metro Health Medical Center, a Case Western Reserve affiliated program in Cleveland, Ohio. After his first snow-filled winter in Ohio, Dr. Khaira left Cleveland for the warmer climate of Loma Linda, CA. Once he completed his internal medicine residency training in 2003 at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Southern California, he relocated to the Bay Area and built his private practice in Alameda, California.
Dr. Khaira has been in private practice in Alameda since 2003. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and is part of the medical staff at Alta Bates in Berkeley and Summit Medical Center in Oakland. Dr. Khaira serves on several medical boards and advises on value based care where he advocates for patient care and fellow physicians.
He is an avid sports fan and when he is not practicing medicine he enjoys football trivia, playing soccer with his kids, and supporting the San Francisco 49ers.
Dr. Magalong received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Doctor of Medicine degrees at the University of the Philippines. He completed his internal medicine residency at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University, University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann.
After his training, he joined a multi-specialty practice in Visalia, and in 2003, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to practice as a hospitalist and post-acute care physician.
Dr. Magalong is board certified in Internal Medicine and is a Certified Medical Director by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. He is on the medical staff at Alta Bate in Berkeley, Summit Medical Center in Oakland, Alameda Hospital, John George Hospital and San Leandro Hospital.
As an advocate for patient safety and quality of care, he has served as the Chief of Staff/President of the Medical Staff and Chair of Medicine at Alameda Hospital. He also serves as a medical director at several skilled nursing facilities in the community.
Dr. Magalong is passionate about patient care and treats his patients the way he expects providers to treat his family.
Catherine Tanner has been a practicing APRN in Family Practice since 2007 and graduated from Samuel Merritt College. She has primarily worked in community health centers assisting the underserved populations in Contra Costa and Solano Counties, and since 2012, has worked at the UC Berkeley Health Center, allowing her to grow as a sub-specialist in adolescent health. For the past 11 years, she has been a faculty member at Samuel Merritt University in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program, where she continues to teach didactic courses and serves as clinical faculty for the University.
Catherine is passionate about women's health and emphasizes prevention among all her patients. In her spare time, she hikes, gardens, and dabbles in cat agility.
Originally from South Africa, Ms. Moonsamy immigrated to the US in 1985. After graduating from UC Berkeley, she completed her MSN at Samuel Merritt College in 2003. Ms. Moonsamy has worked in a variety of clinical settings, handling a diverse variety of patient health issues, including medical weight management, risk management, preventive health, and women's health. Noelene has a passion for teaching and has worked at several colleges and universities since 2006. In 2011, she became a faculty member at Samuel Merritt College, where she manages faculty practices and clinical coordination teams and teaches both didactic and clinical courses.
Noelene's hobbies include singing at church with her siblings, salsa dancing, and spending time with her great big, happy family.
